The Office of the Dean Of Students

This is the office that is concerned with the general welfare of the students and coordination of student activities. The office also represents the students in the Institute Management and all the other organs of the Institute. Services offered by this office include Coordination of student activities (formation of National and district associations, student Council, welfare Groups), Games and Sports, international student services, and vocational placement of needy students, inter-Institute programs i.e. Talent shows, Interdepartmental ballgames and Athletics among others. We also coordinate drama and music ballgames and athletics competitions at regional and national levels.

The office also ensures that the students get the best catering and accommodation facilities. The office ensures that the meals offered in the cafeteria are adequate, of quality and affordable. It also ensures there is security in the boarding area and that the hygiene standards are high and well maintained.

It is also through this office that student Council is formed. The office is mandated with the task of ensuring that SOTTTI members are given an opportunity to elect their representatives in a free, fair and transparency elections. Nominations and Elections are conducted by an independent body, the electoral commission. The office also ensures that gender balance is maintained in the student representation.

The office of the dean of students also coordinates all clubs and societies in the institute. All these clubs and societies operate and  carry out activities authorized and consented by the office of the dean of student. The religious societies also fall in this office, where the office ensures they are able to freely meet and worship in places allocated to them. The societies includes; the Christian Union CU, Young Catholic Students YCS, Seventh Day Adventists SDA and the recently formed Young Muslim Students.

The office is also tasked with the obligation of assisting the needy students to access loans including the HELB, CDF and any other scholarships available. Since this office is concerned with the students welfare, most of the students who in one time or onother may be going through certain distresses can be listenend to and solutions are sought and are handled ammicably by the Dean and Deputy Dean of students.
